Title: About VS-310

Description: Details on scan sync not present message within ESP program

Issue: What does the message "scan sync not present' mean?

Solution: The message "scan sync not present" is a message that refers to a hardware problem. This message means that either the motor is not running, the laser is not on, or there is a problem with the electronics inside the scanner. When performing the read rate test, make sure that you can see a laser line coming out of the scanner. If there is a laser line coming out, and the message "scan sync not present" appears, you will need to contact your distributor for an RMA. If you do not see a laser line, click on the scanner tab, then the button labeled 'Motor on', then the button labeled 'Laser on'. If no laser line comes out, there is a hardware failure with either the motor or the laser; you will need to contact your distributor for an RMA. If the laser does appear, you should be able to go back to read rate and perform your test; if so, double check your scanner configuration.
